Clearswift Donates Computers to Computers 4 Africa

Posted on April 26, 2013

Global digital security software company Clearswift donates PCs and IT equipment to Africa.

Clearswift is participating in the IT recycling scheme Computers 4 Africa https://www.digitalpipeline.org.uk/. The organization collects unwanted PCs and associated IT equipment, refurbishes them and sends them out to schools, colleges and projects across Africa.

Africa has the lowest rate of pc ownership in the world. Most schools cannot afford them, which means that most African children grow up with no access to computers or IT training. The donated computers will help to equip African children with life-changing IT skills, increasing their career opportunities and helping them to break the poverty cycle.

So far, Clearswift has donated 14 full computer systems, three monitors and various peripherals (mice, keyboards and so on). We also encourage employees to donate their old personal laptops to the scheme.
